Because math is such an important element of almost every branch of science, engineering, technology, and industry, you can find work almost anywhere with this degree. Students in this program can choose between four concentrations: actuarial science, applied mathematics, applied statistics, and pure mathematics.
Mathematics is the study of quantitative relationships expressed in numbers and symbols. It focuses on mathematical concepts and theories and involves their formulation, testing, interpretations, and practical application. You’ll also gain skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, and investigative skills that will serve you well no matter which direction your career takes you.
Overall employment of mathematicians and statisticians is projected to grow 30% from 2022 to 2032, much faster than the average for all occupations. About 3,500 openings for mathematicians and statisticians are projected each year, on average, over the decade. Many of those openings are expected to result from the need to replace workers who transfer to different occupations or exit the labor force, such as retirement ( Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2025).

Students who complete this program have all of the skills and knowledge needed to pursue a career as a middle school or high school mathematics teacher.
Students pursuing this degree complete all the classes required for a mathematics major, including applied mathematics, statistics, and pure mathematics, in addition to education courses. After passing the professional exams offered by the state, they will be fully certified to teach. Mathematics teachers are in great demand nationwide. Students earning their teaching certification in mathematics can easily find jobs almost anywhere in the country.
Employment of high school teachers is projected to decline 2% from 2024 to 2034. Despite declining employment, about 66,200 openings for high school teachers are projected each year, on average, over the decade. Let your imagination guide you to opportunities in emerging industries with this major. The focus of the media arts and science program is on creativity and digital storytelling while enhancing contemporary career-building skills.
Our program offers education and experience on various integrated media venues in today’s convergent society. Learn how to produce materials like websites, smartphone apps, interactive education materials, games and simulations, 3D motion graphics, and more with this degree. Students pursuing this major will develop their artistic ability, computer skills (e.g., design, coding), experience with interactive media, creativity, communication, and teamwork skills.

Gain a general understanding of health and medicine that can be applied to almost any career path in the health and life sciences industry, including social and economic research, medicine, dentistry, health law, medical social work, and more.
The medical humanities and health studies major prepares you to understand the broader role and determinants of health and medicine in today’s world. Humanities courses raise questions of how human beings deal with health, medical intervention, illness, and death. You'll gain insight into the social, economic, and cultural contexts of health, illness, and health care.

Engage in making music with technology, performing, composing, and producing digital-music-formatted materials. Gain a background in music theory, history, research, keyboard, aural training, music technology, and music ensemble to create an appealing resume and portfolio upon graduation.
Curriculum in this program reflects the need for a blend of music and technology in today’s professional world. Music technology pervades every aspect of music product development, studio recording, and commercial music, including the classical music world. When you pursue this major, you'll study musicianship during the first two years of the degree program and participate in music ensembles and applied music lessons each semester that you are enrolled (8 credit hours total). The degree is designed as a four-year course of study.
