Advice to students: There is not just one right major or right career. There are LOTS of right options. The trick is to figure out which path fits you best today and to have confidence that it will lead you in the directions you want to go over time.
If you could be any major in your cluster, what would it be? Why?: Either community health or medical humanities. I love getting to know people’s stories, and these two programs focus more on the people side of health care than on the medicine side. They also promote health education—giving people the information and the tools to make decisions for themselves, just like I do in my job!
Biography: I grew up in Terre Haute, Indiana, in a family of public school teachers. I have been very involved in sports, especially soccer and running, and am a big fan of Colts football, Pacers basketball, and the Indy 500. When not on campus, I am an active musician in the Indianapolis community (French horn) and enjoy spending time with my husband, Sam.
