Education:

  • Master of Arts, Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education, Ball State University
  • Bachelor of Arts, Ball State University
    • Major: Telecommunications; Concentration: Sales and Promotion
    • Minors: Marketing and Psychology
    • Previous Major: Sports Administration

Professional Experience:

  • How long in ACD: Since March 2018.
  • What do you like about the work you do: I like the variety of the work we get to do—working with students one-on-one, supporting first-year seminars, presenting at New Student Orientation, participating in professional development, and providing a voice on several committees and action teams!
  • Past jobs/experiences: I ran the New Student Orientation program at Indiana University Bloomington for four years before moving back home to Indianapolis and starting this job. Before that, I also had experiences in orientation, advising, and admissions at both Ivy Tech Community College of Indianapolis and Ball State University.

Advice to students: Really think about why you are here. Why is a college education important to you? Why is IUPUI important to you? When you identify those values, then set goals, seek experiences, and seize opportunities that will continue to drive that motivation.

If you could be any major in your cluster, what would it be? Why?: I would love to be an epidemiology major! I am a problem solver, so the idea of investigating the spread of disease and creating strategies to keep the public safe and healthy is fascinating to me.

Biography: I am originally from the Indianapolis area and have spent my entire life in Indiana. And while I love home, I also love to travel. Some of the more exciting places I have visited include Iceland; Banff National Park in Canada; and San Juan, Puerto Rico. I also love to hike and spend time outdoors when the weather is nice! When the weather isn’t nice, I read, work on puzzles, and watch lots of TV and movies. I now live in Fishers with my husband. Some of my favorite things include coffee, chocolate, the color blue, to-do lists, bonfires, friends, and family.
